Wear your color

The colors you wear make a huge difference in how you look. And if you find out what colors are best for you, not only will you always look good, but you will also save time and money. When you already know what colors suit you, you save yourself time from shopping and deciding what to wear. And you save money by not buying stuff that would just sit in your wardrobe. Because let’s face it, we usually don’t wear everything that’s in our closet!

Plus, if you’re decluttering, having a guide to what looks good on you versus what doesn’t can be really helpful. The color guide helps you choose what to bring in, and also makes it easier to let go of the garments that are not for you.

So how do we choose our colors?

The most common way to figure that out is to find out if we have warm or cool undertones. BUT that only works on people that land on the far ends of the spectrum. What about those people with mixed tones? The struggle is sometimes finding the best color for you when you have, say, cool skin undertone but your eyes and hair have warm undertones.

That is also why we look at other aspects of color in choosing what would suit us:

1. Warm or cool?
2. Light or deep?
3. Muted or clear?

Even if you feel like you don’t have the “eye” to identify good aesthetics/colors, it’ll be easy for you to figure it out when you have a guide. (See also: how to build confidence.)
