Power of Breathwork: Breathe Your Way to Balance & Energy
Are you looking for a way to reduce stress, connect with your body, and find inner peace?
If so, you won’t want to miss this episode, where we sit down with Carolene Joy Cabrera King, a breathwork facilitator with years of experience in helping people do just that!
In a constantly moving and changing world, it can be challenging to slow down and find moments of calm.
Breathwork can help you ground yourself and find a sense of balance amidst the chaos.
Benefits of Breathwork
Breathwork has many benefits for your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Intentionally focusing on your breath can reduce stress and anxiety, improve your sleep patterns, and boost your immune system.
Breathwork also helps you connect with your body and become more aware of your emotions, which can lead to improved relationships and a more positive outlook on life.
How Breathwork Differs from Meditation
While both breathwork and meditation involve intentional breathing and focus, breathwork is often easier and more accessible for beginners.
Breathwork allows you to connect with your body and create deeper self-awareness, while meditation focuses on stillness and detachment from thoughts and emotions.
The Importance of Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is a key component of breathwork. By becoming more aware of your body and emotions, you can better understand yourself and your needs.
Through intentional breathing techniques, Carolene helps her clients access their emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations, allowing them to release stress, anxiety, and trauma from their bodies.

“Breath allows us to slow down enough to notice and look at all the magic and wonder at our capacity to hold both states of panic and calms simultaneously.” – Carolene Joy Cabrera King

Meet Carolene
Carolene is a breathwork healing facilitator based out of Escondido, California, where she lives in Eden Valley. She is a poet, a playwright, an educator, and activist committed to envisioning and building toward a world of true social justice, free from the bonds of sexism and racism. She spends a lot of her time meditating on and inviting into our reality a truly liberated world where every single person embodies their full, complete, authentic self.
Carolene graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a double major in Theatre and Literature/Writing, went on to complete a Master’s in Education at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, and then to New York University to complete a second Master’s in Art, Activism, & Community Practice, and while she is a perpetual student, always seeking to learn and discover more ways to love herself, her community, and her world more deeply, the natural world is her favorite classroom: the whisper of the trees, the song of the breeze, the deep poetry of silence in the woods and the beautiful lessons that come from standing in midst of crashing ocean waves.
