I’m sure many of you have heard of the Dirty Dozen foods which have the most pesticides on them. If not, check out my sister’s blog for the list. They are the 12 foods that are most important for you to buy organic. She also lists out the 12 that are considered most clean, meaning if you’re pinching pennies and can’t afford to make your whole grocery list, these are ones you can go for non-organic.
However, today the EWG came out with a new list of the Dirty Dozen Endocrine Disruptors. These are the 12 chemicals commonly found in many household products that can cause disruptions to your hormones and endocrine system.
You an check out their site for a little more information about each of the items and where you’d find them in your homes or communities, what impact they have on your body, and how to avoid them. They do a nice job summarizing all the info so easiest to just forward you there. The impact these hormone disruptors have on our body is important for us to be aware of and is a great way to end October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
But I’ll list them out here for you. Some of them you may have already known about, while others may be new.
