Grieving the Worst Pain

Losing a child is a parent’s worst nightmare and it can turn your life upside down. It’s almost as if all hope is lost and there’s no point in moving forward in life. And it feels like people deem you crazy and that you are alone in your pain. But momma, trust me, and many of us who had undergone the same thing; you can heal from this pain. But what you need to do first is to be willing to heal and start again. (See also a rising mom’s story of healing from miscarriage.)

Navigating Grief & Learning to Thrive After Loss with Megan HillukkaThe emotions that come with grief is one of the biggest challenges. When we grieve through this kind of pain, we also feel other sorts of emotions like anger, guilt, hopelessness, and so on. But instead of repressing them and trying hard to run away from these emotions, we have to acknowledge them.

This is one of the things that Megan Hilluka advises us to do when trying to heal from this pain. She is a PTSD survivor after losing a child and now helps other grieving women go through the healing process.

“To live a beautiful life is possible after loss” -Megan Hillukka

Other life-changing stuff you will learn in this episode…

  • Safe ways to process your pain
  • Why acknowledging the pain is necessary for healing instead of ignoring them
  • Avoiding unconscious acts that negatively affects you and your relationships with others while you’re healing
  • Comforting and supporting someone who’s grieving (and why staying silent is worse than making a mistake)
  • Asking yourself the right questions to gently tap into your wounds

Healing from grief is painful and uncomfortable in itself. It’s far from enjoyable. But it is a necessary step to make to move forward in life— for your loved ones, and for yourself. Mama, it’s time to get up. Spread your love. Your little angel in heaven is cheering you on.
